Out-of-Network Reimbursement
Info about obtaining Out-of-Network reimbursement:
In some cases where you are not able to use your in-network insurance benefits and are paying out-of-pocket, you may be able to work directly with your insurance company to get reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits. When considering use of Out-of-Network (OON) benefits, it's helpful to learn exactly what your benefits are. You can check the online portal of your insurance company or call them directly. Please also let me know that you will be doing this so that I will know to provide you with Superbills that are usually needed to access those benefits. Here's some more info on OON benefits:

In general, most PPO plans (not HMO) have OON benefits. I would likely be considered an OON provider, and you would be receiving individual counseling, out-patient mental health services with a licensed mental health counselor associate (LMHCA). However, you must confirm this with your insurance company. The following are some helpful questions you can ask that will help you confirm what your benefits are in the case of seeing me for counseling:
Important Questions to Ask Your Insurance Company:

-
Are mental/behavioral health services covered by my out-of-network benefits? (You can provide the Current Procedural Terminology/CPT codes 90837 for individual therapy session and 90791 for initial evaluation).
-
Will I be reimbursed for seeing a counselor?
-
Will service be covered with Parzival Popof, LMHCA, NPI#
-
How much of the fee is reimbursed for out-of-network providers?
-
What is my deductible?
-
Have I met my deductible?
-
How long do I have to submit my Superbill for reimbursement?
-
How long will it take to be reimbursed for sessions after I have submitted my claims?
